A classic blend (Cuvée) of the three traditional "Champagne" varities
Varietal: 42.5% Chardonnay 42.5% Pinot Noir 15% Pinot Meunier
Grapes carefully selected from our new vineyards planted since 2011, situated on the Hog's Back (North Downs) at Puttenham just outside Guildford, Surrey as well as grapes from our Shere site. 85% grapes from 2013 and 15% 2014.
The current owners (Mike and Hilary Wagstaff) took over the existing Greyfriars vineyard in 2010 and have expanded by planting 15 Ha of predominantly Champagne varieties at two sites on the Hog's Back. We also manage an existing 4 Ha Vineyard 15 miles away at Shere. The 2011 harvest was the first vintage under the new ownership.
This is the first vintage/release of our Non Vintage Cuvée from 2013 and 2014 harvests. Both years were a good vintage and as a result 2013 and 2014 were characterised by large yields of good grapes.
