Spring is most definitely in the air. As the vineyard slowly comes back to life after its Winter hibernation and we get ready for our major new project of 2026 – the replanting of the Old Plot at Greyfriars we are excited to announce the largest single release of new wines in our history. This totals six new still and two new sparkling wines which we can’t wait to share with you. Here is a teaser to whet your appetite, which will hopefully give you the urge to come down and see us or to try them online, since they won’t be on wide release for a while yet.
These wines are testament to the quality of Greyfriars vineyard, the fantastic 2025 vintage together with Oliver’s amazing winemaking. Hopefully there is something for everyone, including new vintages of old favourites and some more experimental wines.
2025 Vintage Still Wines
As you will remember fondly, Summer 2025 was blessed with amazingly consistent warm and dry conditions throughout the growing season almost up until harvest. Not only were yields slightly above average in 2025, coming after a huge harvest in 2023 and the tiny harvest in 2024, but ripeness and flavour were also fantastic. As a result, we were blessed with what we believe is the best vintage ever at Greyfriars (so far) which also resulted in a harvest that was nearly a month earlier than normal.
This has given us the opportunity to create a broader range of still wines than normal from the 2025 vintage and the warmth and timing of the harvest has meant that we have been able to bottle these wines earlier than expected.
